experienced, solution-focused therapist.
I’m Kate Evans, Mum of three, psychology and neuroscience superfan, and trauma-informed, practitioner.
I love what I do, and I work with absolute confidence, knowing that I consistently help my clients in a meaningful, permanent way.
Having previously trained in the field of mental health nursing, and as an integrative humanistic counsellor, I understand how tough and emotionally draining traditional counselling can be, and how the medical model for mental health support can fall short of helping people with their mental health and wellbeing needs, which is why I retrained as a Solution-Focused Therapist in 2019.
In the years since starting my Solution-Focused practice I have continued my training, deepening my understanding of how stress and trauma can impact body and mind, why we suffer with mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression, and how I can use this knowledge to help my clients cope and thrive, and achieve the changes that they want and deserve.
My research and further training covers a deeper understanding of neuroscience and neuroplasticity, and the physiology and chemistry of our nervous systems as related to the brain-body connection, and how chronic stress and trauma profoundly impact our neurophysiology. I apply a trauma-informed approach in my work as a result.
The Better Minds Project brings all of this knowledge together, and I provide my clients with a comprehensive mental health toolkit, enabling you to cope better, regulate your body and mind effectively, regain a sense of calm, comfort and control in your daily activities, leaving you free to enjoy yourself and the life you live.
This process is extremely effective in helping people who are struggling with a broad range of mental and physical well-being issues in a simple, effective, goal oriented way, whilst allowing space to work through and resolve past trauma.
